TOKYO, 30th August 2018: Global market research company Macromill, Inc. is intensifying its focus on M&A, strategic alliances and partnerships with the appointment of Derek Swanson to the newly created role of Senior Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development.
Macromill has grown rapidly – both organically and through M&A activity in the global market research space. Recent activity includes the acquisition of US-based research agency Acturus, the purchase of neuromarketing pioneer Centan, the strategic partnership and capital alliance with W&S in Southeast Asia, and the procurement of a 51% stake in Tokyo Survey Research from Hakuhodo.
Derek’s impressive track record overseeing M&A activity mean he is perfectly positioned to lead the development, communication and execution of Macromill Group’s overall strategy for investments and M&A. He joins from The Nielsen Company, where he spent a decade in Corporate Development based in New York. Prior to that he spent eight years working on strategic opportunities for INTELSAT, formerly PanAmSat, including a significant project in Japan, where Macromill is headquartered.
